723 Yutong Buses Deliver Premium Transport for African International Football Tournament
On January 18, 2026, the 35th African International Football Tournament concluded after a month of competition, featuring 50+ matches among 24 teams. Throughout the event, a fleet of 723 Yutong buses delivered efficient and dependable transportation for players, officials, and local commuters.

Reliable and Efficient Mobility Throughout the Tournament
With event held across six host cities from Tangier to Agadir, this edition marked the tournament’s largest-ever venue footprint. The widely distributed locations, paired with intense passenger demand, required vehicles with exceptional reliability and rapid service response.

Yutong delivered 723 buses tailored to Morocco’s diverse climate, complex road conditions, and long-term operational needs starting in September 2025. These buses offer greater economy, safety, and adaptability with a 15-year/2-million-kilometer design life. The 18-meter models accommodate up to 130 passengers for high-demand routes. A dedicated team of 100+ technicians, localized parts reserves, and an efficient coordination mechanism were put in place ahead of the event.

Over 29 days, the buses safely moved more than 3 million passengers across four key host cities like Marrakesh and Tangier. Despite intense post-match crowds and peak-hour passenger flows, the fleet operated with zero breakdowns, demonstrating outstanding reliability and adaptability.

Beyond the Tournament: Integrated Urban Mobility
Yutong’s role extended beyond event-day operations to support long-term transit development in Morocco. Yutong not only supplied quality vehicles but also implemented a full lifecycle support system rooted in local partnerships.

A localized parts center and a network of 94 service centers across Africa enable rapid maintenance response. Meanwhile, training programs are building skilled local teams for driving, maintenance, and fleet management.

This integrated approach including product delivery, service support, skill development, and network collaboration, lays a solid foundation for sustainable and self-reliant public transport operations in Morocco.

With two decades of experience in Africa, Yutong has delivered over 23,000 vehicles to nearly 50 African countries.

The success of this tournament’s transport operations highlights Yutong’s commitment to localized operations and comprehensive mobility solutions.

In the future, Yutong will keep collaborating with African partners to advance urban transport, making travel safer, more efficient and comfortable for all.
